The craft

The person who quotes your stone is the person who kneels on it.

Augie learned the trade the old way — on lobby floors, under mantels, matching veins by eye before ever switching on a grinder. Augie's Stone Restoration LLC is a family-owned New York company that sets new stone and tile, and restores the marble, terrazzo and tile that give these interiors their character.

No subcontracted crews. Dust contained, furniture protected, layouts dry-fit and finishes tested before anything is set or ground. That's the whole philosophy: respect the stone, respect the home it lives in.

What we install & restore

New stone set. Old stone saved.

Augie's installs natural stone and tile from scratch — and brings tired surfaces back when they're worth saving. Same hands, same standard, either way.

Natural Stone Installation

Marble, granite, limestone, travertine and slate — slab layout, vein matching, cutting, setting and sealing for floors, walls, countertops and stairs.

Ceramic & Porcelain Tile Setting

Ceramic, porcelain and large-format tile installed flat and true — bathrooms, kitchens, showers and floors, with proper substrate prep and waterproofing.

Marble & Granite Polishing

Diamond honing and polishing that takes etched, dull stone back to a true, even reflection — matte, satin or mirror.

Terrazzo Restoration

Grinding, crack repair and re-sealing for classic New York terrazzo — lobbies, corridors and stair treads.

Tile & Grout Renewal

Deep extraction cleaning, re-grouting and color-sealing that reads as new tile — without demolition.

Custom Cutting & Fabrication

On-site cuts, mitered edges, sink and cooktop cutouts, thresholds and window sills — templated and finished to fit your space.

Fireplace & Mantel Restoration

Careful cleaning, stain reversal and repair for marble, limestone and slate surrounds — prewar detail preserved.

Countertop Repair & Sealing

Chip fills, seam repair, etch removal and penetrating sealers for kitchen and bath stone.

Mosaic & Stone Inlay

New mosaic and inlay work set by hand — and missing tesserae rebuilt to match the original pattern, tone and finish.

How it goes

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. 01

    Assess

An on-site survey, measurements and a sample or test patch, so you approve the material and finish before anything is committed. Estimates are free.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Substrate prep and waterproofing for new work; grinding, crack and chip repair for old. The honest structural work nothing else can fake.

  3. 03

    Set & Polish

Stone laid out, cut and set true — or existing surfaces taken through progressive diamond abrasives to the sheen you chose on day one.

  4. 04

    Protect

Penetrating sealers and a written care plan, so the finish holds for years — not months.

"Our 1920s lobby floor looked beyond saving. Augie's crew ground, honed and polished it back to glass. Tenants stop to look down."
